Teaching for Distance Ed vs. Summer

Many faculty teach courses in one or both of the summer sessions for both Summer Sessions/Programs (on-campus and/or non-DisEd online) and Distance Education (at approved extension sites and/or online). While both Summer Programs and Distance Education are part of The Division of Educational Outreach and Summer Programs, the hiring, course offerings/scheduling, payroll, budget, and staff, etc. are separate and distinct.

The schedule, support, and "care" of summer programs courses and faculty are provided by the Office of Summer Programs. Questions about Summer School schedules, hiring/contract/payroll and other related issues should be directed to the Summer Programs staff at 828-262-3154. The Office of Summer Programs is located on the second floor of University Hall which is located on University Hall Drive off of Hwy. 321 (the street between Staples and Green's Motel).
